Does electricity flow through the mat?

No. The cord connects only to the ground port — the round hole at the bottom of your outlet. No electrical current enters the mat. A built-in safety resistor provides additional protection. It's the indoor equivalent of standing barefoot on grass.

Can I use it with socks on?

Yes. Thin cotton socks still allow electron transfer. Bare feet give the strongest connection. Thick wool socks, synthetic slippers, or rubber-soled shoes will block the connection. The thinner the barrier, the better.

How long should I use it per day?
